I’ve driven 3.3 miles to gate 7 twice on a Friday evening – the gate was closed both times. I called the 492-8363 number and left voice mail and received no returns. How do I get there from within post?

I have taken my 7 year old son shooting every weekend since he was big enough to hold a firearm. But now since I PCS to FT Carson he is all of a suddden not old enough to shoot because of Ft Carson policy. All I ever hear is “Family oriented” or “family freindly” on this post. But that obviously is not the case, all I here from him now is he wants to go back to Florida where we PCSed from. Where we could hunt, fish and shoot any time we wanted to. Does anyone know where we can have good fanily fun on a shooting range close to FT Carson that does not descriminate because of age? Thanks!
Patrick,
Pikes Peak Gun Club off of CO Highway 94, east of CO SPGS. Take US 24 East to CO 94. At Mile Marker 6 and turn south on Franceville Coalmine Rd. Trap & Skeet is open to the public and you don’t have to register your gun with a government agency to shoot. Pistol and Rifle range is for members only. They are open Wed-Sun from about 9-5. Be safe.
